Safety Planning for Women

You're Looking for Answers. Not Judgement. You're in the Right Place.

Some women come here in crisis. Some come after. Some come before anything has happened at all. All of them leave with a plan.

Maybe something is happening right now and you're not sure what to do next.

Maybe you just got out of something difficult and want to make sure it never happens again.

Maybe nothing has happened yet but something feels off and you want to be prepared.

Whatever brought you here, you don't have to explain it. You don't have to justify it.

You just need real, practical help that's built around your situation. That's exactly what this is.

No pressure. No judgement. Just a conversation when you're ready.

You Are Not Alone

Sometimes You Just Know Something Feels Wrong

You don't have to be in immediate danger to want a plan. Maybe your ex is unpredictable. Maybe someone in your life makes you uneasy and you can't fully explain why. Maybe you just want to feel more prepared for yourself and your kids.

You might recognise yourself in one of these:

  • You've started dating again and something feels off but you can't quite put your finger on it
  • Everything seems fine. Almost too fine. And that itself feels unsettling.
  • Someone in your life has become unpredictable and you're not sure what to do next
  • You're dealing with a situation that involves your kids and you want a clear plan
  • You've already taken some legal steps and want a practical safety plan to go alongside them
  • You left. But leaving didn't make the unease go away.
  • Nothing has happened yet. But something feels off. And you want to be prepared before anything does.

That feeling is worth listening to.

This isn't about learning how to fight. It's about making clear decisions early — before pressure hits — so you already know what to do.

SAFE has been teaching real people practical safety skills since 1994. Not flashy techniques. Not vague tips. Simple decisions you can actually recall when stress is high.

What We Teach

Three Things That Actually Matter

Every session is built around the same three areas. In this order. Always.

👁️
1

Prevention First

Spotting problems early. Trusting your instincts. Recognising red flags before a situation escalates.

🗣️
2

Words & Decisions

Distance. Exits. Boundaries. How to handle difficult situations without scripts that fall apart under stress.

🛡️
3

Physical — Last Resort

Simple options that don't rely on perfect timing or strength. The goal is always to get away safely.

No pressure. No judgement. Just a conversation when you're ready.

How It Works

Built Around Your Life. Not a Generic Script.

Every session starts with listening. Your situation shapes everything that gets covered. Nothing is generic. Nothing is one-size-fits-all.

  • We start with your specific situation, not a pre-built curriculum
  • Safety planning for your home, your routines, and your kids if relevant
  • How to recognise warning signs and trust what you're already feeling
  • What to say, what to do, and when to leave early
  • Simple physical options if everything else fails
  • A clear plan you can remember without notes

Most of the session is conversation. You do most of the talking. That's how it's supposed to work.

Who You're Working With

A Bit About Chris

Chris Roberts SAFE International

I'm Chris Roberts. I've been teaching practical safety to real people since 1994. I'm not a therapist or a legal expert. But I've spent more than 30 years listening to people in situations just like yours. That's what shapes everything I teach.

My clients shaped what I teach. Not me. Every session is built from real conversations with real people facing real situations. Not from a textbook. Not from a script.

I know some people wonder whether a man should be teaching this. That's a fair question. All I can tell you is what women who've worked with me have said.

"I was skeptical before we started. By the end I hadn't expected to feel so comfortable. He listened more than he talked."

— SAFE student, private session

"I felt heard for the first time in a long time. And I left with a plan I actually understood."
