What did one student attending The University of British Columbia say when he faced mounting accusations of harassment and sexual assault by at least six students? With the first woman who accused him, he said, “When somebody asks you to their room after a party, they always (or nearly always) mean sex.”
How prevalent is this thinking?
Sad to say it, but self-defence and violence prevention training is now a necessity!
I consistently see people posting how we should teach people NOT to assault sexually and NOT have to teach people how to defend themselves!
Sorry, but I am going to teach my granddaughters and grandson about all sides of sexual assault!
I am sad to say it, but I don’t think thoughts and actions will ever change enough where I feel my grandchildren will not have to worry about it, so I prefer to prepare them and not have them rely on anyone but themselves!
