The Reality of Knife Attacks is not what you see in Hollywood movies. If anyone tells you what they teach, defending against a knife is guaranteed to work is lying.

Knife attacks are fast, chaotic, and brutal. Most self- defence systems teach memorized set of self-defence techniques that do not address the reality of how a real knife attack presents itself. In this clip, world-renowned self-defence expert Richard Dimitri discusses perhaps the most difficult knife attack to defend against with Chris Roberts, Founder of SAFE Violence Prevention & Self Defence.
The cheapest, easiest-to-gain and most common weapon used in violence is the knife (and other forms of edged weapons). Just as treacherous as a gun at close range, the knife is by far one of the deadliest tools used in violent confrontations — and we can easily find one in just about every kitchen.
Knife attacks are frightening. Because each situation has so many variables, there can never be any guarantee of the outcome for any self-defence system. But you can increase your chances of success and survival, even with all those variables at play.
