NEVER MAKE ASSUMPTIONS WHEN IT COMES TO CHILDREN’S SAFETY
The odds of the story I will share with you ending badly might be slim, but I thought it was worth sharing.
I was to pick up the grandkids today, but I received a text telling me, “Don’t worry about the kids. I am off early, and I can get them myself.”
I was 99% certain it was from another family member, but I did not recognize the number. So, instead of disregarding it, I asked my daughter if she was familiar with it – she wasn’t. So, I suspected the person might have been using someone else’s phone.
My daughter confirmed that I was right, and I couldn’t help but think: even though the odds of being wrong were slim, how many people would ignore it and assume everything was alright?
I felt this story serves as a reminder to have your safety checks in place with family members and anyone assisting with the care of the kids.
