I assumed I would be safe near my granddaughter, but she quickly taught me that I must always stay vigilant and remain aware of how my clothing plays into my safety regarding self-defence.
Talking about some clothing quirks regarding self-defence and my safety might be fun. Here are my self defence clothing quirks.
Quirk #1: You will never see me wearing sandals outside the comfort of my home or yard. Sure, it might limit my exposure to someone who sees me as a perfect “foot model,” but I don’t want to limit my ability to run if needed.
Quirk #2: I may love wearing hoodies, but I can never bring myself to wear them up-; it limits my peripheral vision too much! And no, I don’t keep the strings attached – my granddaughter reminded me of that!
Quirk #3: Despite my impressive Mr. Olympia physique, I don’t like tight clothing. Not only does it limit my mobility, but it’s also a lot more comfortable wearing loose-fitting garments. My family has taken to calling me “Too-Tight Roberts” because I’m constantly tugging at my shirt to make it baggier.
What are some of your quirks?
